Valentine's Sweets, Field Trip, & Presidents Galore!

A busy couple of weeks we've had at co-op! From Valentine sweets to learning all about those Presidents of ours, it sure has been fun!

A Sweet Friday:

 A Brave Day of Presentations:

Hsiang-Ting "Ting" even made it for a talk on Taiwan after our Presidents Presentation, he had neat things to share!

The Upcoming Field Trip, This Friday February 24th:

Don't forget this weeks field trip was changed from swimming to a tour of the RCB Main Bank in Claremore! Can't wait to lean what goes on behind those closed doors =) Remember, this RCB is NOT the one located off Rt 66, it sits behind that one. email, text, or call Kati or Becky, if you need more info.

We will meet in front of the bank at 9:50 SHARP. We must be on time for this one! The tour will start at 10:00 sharp. If we have a big turn out, we'll split up into two groups again. 9 and under and 10 and up. They said to plan for about 45 minutes for the tour.

We need RSVP's if possible. You can do that via the Yahoo Group, Facebook, or email. We need to give them an idea of how many we'll have before Friday. After the bank, if the weather is nice and your family doesn't have plans, I think a group of people will gather at the Claremore Lake to feed the ducks and let little ones play at the park while eating a picnic lunch. ;) Remember, anyone is invited to come, even those who don't participate in weekly co-op, just try to RSVP, if possible! But don't let that stop you from coming if you don't get a chance to RSVP.

See you then!

Healthy Foods, Valentines Party, and a Little Bit of Presidents...

Well, last week was a great CoOp week, if I do say so myself...

which I do =)

There were a ton of new people. I was a little scared. In fact I think I turned real red and couldn't quit talking.  Where have all you people been for the last year? I can't believe Becky and I actually started a CoOp and people are actually coming. It pretty much blows us both away. We're excited though!

We did announcements, boy there were a lot.

During announcements we discovered that I (Kati) forgot to put a diaper on my baby, a first for me. ( a sign that I am truly losing my mind)  Hey!  I should have said I was Becky = ) Needless to say, this made me even more scared having so many new people ;)

We broke off into our support group. Us moms enjoyed some fun laughs and did the scheduling. Remember that 1,000 gifts paper I gave you mommas? (well, I ran out so some didn't get them) You can click HERE to get one of those!

While us mommas chatted and planned, our kiddos sat like perfect little angles and made valentine cards for the elderly people in the nursing home. They DID NOT make paper air planes at any time... =)

Remember, we will be going to deliver those next week after the Valentine's party, if your family can.

Speaking of Valentine's Party, that is THIS Friday. Be sure your kiddo has a Valentine's box all ready and about 30 treats/cards to share =) Also, be sure your family brings something to share for lunch. It can be a Valentine treat or a Rabbit treat (healthy) that is totally up to you! (I like pepsi and those little conversation hearts ;) He, he... I'm a mess today!

Before we chow down on all those yummy goodies.. Don't forget! Mrs. Summer from the Craig Count Health Dept is coming to chat with our kiddos about Health and Nutrition. She will the introducing the new MY PLATE to the kids and talking to them about healthy food choices. (let's not tell her we're having a party after she leaves) =(

States and Presidents Presentations are coming up! Be sure your kiddos are truckin'  away at those! For those of you who didn't get the hand out of what that that looks like, here is a copy of the text:

States and Presidents Day will be the Third Week of each month. On this day you will need to bring your spiral notebook, (I recommend one for states and one for presidents) any state and president info you may have and a pencil. Be prepared to dig in and get as much information you can about the person/state you choose!

Presidents:

{The following can be done on a simple level for younger children. Nine and up should answer in detail if you feel they are capable}

How did the president you chose impact America?

Was the impact good or bad?

What new laws did your president implement or pass?

What was his passion during his campaign? Did he follow thorough?

What was the public’s view of him?

What are some of the funniest facts about your president? What was something strange he loved?

States:

When did your state enter statehood?

What is it’s flower, bird, what are some native animals, and trees?

What national landmarks are there?

Did anyone famous come from there?

What food is it known for?

When we gather the next month for S&P day, you need to have your poster board for presentation, your report (ONE or more page for nine and up, if capable) any books you may have used for display, and a sample to share of the food from that sate. Example: Blueberry muffins for Maine because they are famous for blueberries, corn in a crock pot for Nebraska because they grow lots of corn; or Hot dogs for New York, etc) On the third Friday of each month, Co-op will last until 12:30 because we will have lunch together. =) We will also chose our next months state/president on this day.

Remember, bringing a basket for your family really helps! I suggest a big bag or basket with your name on it.

Last but not least, MOMS please, please, please... sign up for the YAHOO! Group page! It is such a great resource for communication within our group. (If we were all on there I wouldn't be doing this kind of public blog it would be more for field trips, etc)

You can click on the link at the top of this page to go sign up. Lots of ladies who have signed up say they really like it.

Did I seriously get this post finished today?! Whew! I can't beleive it, I'm so productive today... I even managed to go to the dentist, do school, and pay my bills. =)  Off to cook dinner...

See you FRIDAY!
